Newsletter Advertising Information 2008-2009



The OETC New Century Schoolhouse and the Ed:IT newsletters are both published three times during the academic year: in September/October, January, and April. The newsletters are received by OETC members at educational organizations across the United States.
They are also distributed at local, state, and regional educational technology conferences. The newsletters regularly run 24 pages on 11 x 17 stock, saddle stitched to standard 8.5 x 11 size. Issues are NOW 4-color. Check out our newsletter web pages for the latest editions.

Advertising Policy

Ad copy must be in file format (PDF, EPS, TIFF, or AI). Ads cannot be accepted in Word, PageMaker, QuarkXpress or any other program. Ad copy must be received by the ad deadlines specified above.

Ad are accepted and placed on a first-come, first-served basis for space and positioning.

Billing will take place several weeks after publication of each newsletter edition. All vendors who place an ad will receive several copies of each issue they advertise in when they receive their invoice. Payment is due 30 days after invoicing.

Advertising that was rejected due to lack of space will be not be invoiced. OETC reserves the right to reject any advertisement that appears unsuitable in form or content.

Ad Requirements & Specifications

All ads submitted must be in graphic file format (PDF, EPS, TIFF, AI) and match exact size requirements specified in the enclosed template. Ads cannot be accepted in Word, PageMaker, QuarkXpress or any other program.

Please submit artwork electronically. Accepted file formats are PDF, EPS, TIFF, and AI. It is the advertiser's responsibility to convert and include all fonts and correctly sample images at a minimum of 300 dpi.

No bleeds or negatives, please. The newsletter is printed at 120 lpi (line screen). Please make sure prior to submission that the ad prints out well at this resolution.

Placing an Ad

The first step to place an ad in the either newsletter is to email Julie Chappelle at julie@oetc.org to initially reserve space in the next edition. (Editions are distributed in September/October, January, and April.) Please mention what size ad you want to place, (quarter, half, or full page), and the quantity of ads in each edition.

The next step is to download, print, fill out, and fax a copy of the OETC Ad Contract to Julie Chappelle to officially place your ad(s). Please fax the ad contract to 503-694-4495.

The final step in placing an ad is to check the ad requirements listed above on this page or in your ad packet and submit your copy and images to Julie. See below for submission information
